I think that for your wedding photography, you’re probably looking for a couple of things.

You’re looking for an authentic set of pictures that really collects up the joy and the colour of the day. Some of them will tell a story all to themselves; others will work collectively, each part of a whole story. Maybe there will be moments you missed altogether, or totally forgot about; either way, they should be honest and unguarded.

But I think you’re also looking for a few images that are completely iconic. Photographs that reflect the fact that this is not just another day - this is a singular event. These are pictures that heighten the day, elevate it with a new flavour; this handful isn’t documentary, and it’s not as it was. These particular images are your wedding, plus my unique creative flair.

That’s the basis that I approach my work, and that’s the dual standard I’m trying to deliver every time I shoot a wedding: unguarded and raw emotional storytelling, with some glimpses of the iconic and heightened, especially in my couples portraits.

I love to play experimentally with light, and I’m not shy at all about harsh sunlight - it can be a fantastic element of a composition. I also love to stay incognito, and love being complimented (as frequently happens) for having been close to invisible on the day. I love to shoot minimalist images with a clean and uncluttered frame; I love to play with double exposures, and marry textures and moments from the day in interesting compositions.

When do we get our photographs?

You will receive a sneak peek within the first week then usually the full set of photographs are edited within 6-12 weeks after the wedding. The last thing I would want to do is rush over your wedding, just to get it done by the deadline. The memories I craft will be there for you in the years to come and if we need more time to create something beautiful for you, I see no reason not to take that extra time. Delivery dates change depending on low / high season. If for whatever reason, you need your images sooner, do let me know and I will see if it is possible.

Can I print images from my usb files?

Of course you can, I encourage it. I always grant my clients full personal use with their supplied images. High resolution with no watermarks. I always encourage you make a back up of your images as USBs do not last forever.

How much is the booking fee?

I work on a first come, first served basis, once the deposit is paid your wedding date is firmly secured. A booking fee of £499 takes your date off my availability list. As soon as this is received, your booking is confirmed and I’ll send you an invoice and receipt for your non-refundable deposit. Full payment is required no later than three weeks before your wedding.

Will you take formal photos of our wedding party?

Of course I will. It’s important you have a photographic record of your family and the people that are important to you. However, I strongly suggest you limit your choices to no more than around 10 choices. These images will be quick, fun, and as informal as they can be. It works well to have an usher or family member to help round up relatives to make this process quick and easy. My style is quite documentary but I still hold strong value in a handful of important formal photos. And of course we’ll make time to go for a wander and get some beautiful portraits of just the two of you!

Can you hold a date without a booking fee?

Sorry, but I can’t. To be fair to everyone, and due to the volume of enquiries I receive, a date is only reserved on receipt of a completed booking form and deposit.

How many photos can I expect to receive?

I average around 500 individually edited and polished images per wedding.

Where are you based and where will you travel?

I live in North Yorkshire and my work takes me all over the country and further afield, London, Manchester, Liverpool, Las Vegas and Italy, just to name a few places.
